Reeves is most likely a fictional character invented by cracker story tellers. He was reportedly a soldier during the Second Seminole War, who was killed by a surprise attack as the night watchmen over the soldiers’ encampment near Lake Lawsona in Orlando. Though many believe the story is real, there is no record of any soldier by that name.
