Greater Orlando
Fort Christmas Historical Park

This county park is awe-inspiring for history lovers. It has a replica of the Seminole War fort and an entire recreated village. The county has been collecting neglected old buildings from the surrounding area and lovingly restoring them. There are also farm animals to simulate what life would have been like.
Pioneer Village at Shingle Creek

The village includes a general store and post office, schoolhouse, church, train depot, homesteads from Osceola settlers, Seminole settlement, a cow camp, and working structures such as a blacksmith shop, citrus packing plant, cane grinder, and barn.
Clermont Historic Village

The park is owned by the City of Clermont and operated by the Clermont Historical Society. The society offers tours on Saturday and Sunday afternoons.
Barberville Pioneer Settlement

This impressive historical park is centered around the 1919 Central School building, which now serves as a museum. Around the 30-acre footprint are 18 buildings filled with 10,000 historical artifacts, giving visitors a firsthand look at what life was like in Central Florida 100 years ago.
Tampa Bay
Cracker Country (Tampa)

This rural living history museum is located on the Florida State Fairgrounds. It is set on four acres and includes 13 original structures built in Florida between 1870 and 1912. These buildings were relocated from small towns around Florida and restored to their original condition. The museum is only open for field trips, privately scheduled tours, and a limited number of public events. Contact them or check the schedule.
Dade City Pioneer Florida Museum & Village

The campus includes a large museum and a collection of historic buildings, which have been relocated here from around Pasco County. This includes the Overstreet House, Old Lacoochee School, Enterprise Church, J.L. Bromley Shoe Repair, Mabel Jordan Barn, C.C. Smith General Store, Blanton Packing House, Cane Syrup Mill, and the Tribly Depot with its train engine.
Pinellas Pioneer Settlement

This historic village features the Brantley Building (1888), Endicott House (1898), Blacksmith Shop, Saw Mill, Sugar Cande Shed, Print Shop, Pole Barn, and Agricultural Building. It is located within the Boyd Hill Nature Preserve, operated by St. Petersburg Parks & Recreation.
Heritage Village (Largo)

This living museum features a fascinating collection of restored homes and buildings on 21 wooded acres. The historical museum is the centerpiece of this park. The buildings include train station, caboose, general store, barber shop, garage, carriage house with carriages, school house, church, firehouse with fire truck, band stand, boat house, and several homes. It is located next the beautiful Florida Botanical Gardens. Both have free admission.
Southwest Florida
Pioneer Park (Zolfo Springs)

This historic section has free general admission. It includes a Cracker Trail Museum, Pool House, cane grinding mill, blacksmith shop, cracker houses, post office, outhouse, and a train. Also at the park is a wildlife refuge of Florida species, kaykay launch on the Peace River, and a campground.
Manatee Village Historical Park

This is a fun little historic village with free admission. There is a large locomotive up front. The centerpiece building is a large brick Wiggins General Store (1903), which remains in its original location and is the park headquarters. The old highway ran through the park, so you can picture it just as it was. Other buildings have been moved to the location including Fogarty Boat Works, Blacksmith’s Shop, Stephens House (1912), Smoke House & Mill, Potter Barn, Church (1887), Manatee County Courthouse (1860), and Bunker Hill Schoolhouse (1908).
Crowley Village (Sarasota)

This village comprises structures mainly from around the old town of Miakka. These exhibits include the Crowley General Store museum, Crowley one-room cabin, sugar cane mill, and the two-story Tatum-Rawls House (1889). It has several hiking trails and a boardwalk too.
Sanibel Historical Village

This island village features ten buildings that have been relocated here: Caretaker’s Cottage (1925), Shore Haven (1924), Sanibel School House (1896), Rutland House (1913), Sanibel Packing House (1900), Post Office (1926), Burnap Cottage (1898), Miss Charlotta’s Tea Room (1926), Bailey General Store (1927), and Morning Glories Cottage (1925).
North Florida
Cracker Village @ Silver Springs State Park

The Cracker Village is arranged like a 19th-century pioneer settlement at Silver Springs State Park. Tours are offered. Some of the buildings are authentic and others are replicas.
Heritage Park Village

The village features both authentic structures moved here and replica buildings. They include the Macclenny Depot (1924), church, homes, mill, blockhouse, gas station, drug store, telephone company, turpentine still, and more.
Colonial Quarter

Located in the heart of St. Augustine’s historic district between St. George Street and the fort, this museum combines restored buildings with replicas. It has sections honoring various centuries and features live reenactors.
Ponce de Leon’s Fountain of Youth

This is purported to be the original site of Ponce de Leon’s landing in Florida in 1533. It has a replica village from the Spanish period, Timucua village, archeological excavations, a planetarium, a blacksmith exhibit, a mission, a museum lookout tower, and a spring house where you can drink water from its underground source.

Panhandle Pioneer Settlement

The Panhandle Pioneer Settlement features 18 historic buildings that have been restored and are available to the public. The majority have been furnished with antiques to recreate their original appearance. The attractions are Altha Calaboose, Bailey Log Home, Blacksmith Shop, Chason Cabin, Club House, Cobbler Shop, Doctor’s Office, Firehouse, Gym, Grist Mill, Honey House, McClellan House, Post Office & General Store, Red Oak Methodist Church, Sexton Cabin, Shiloah School, Wells Cabin, Smoke House, and Yon House.
Mission San Luis (Tallahassee)

Mission San Luis is the only reconstructed Spanish mission in Florida. It is a living history museum that transports you back to 1703. This is the location of the former community of Apalachee Indians and Spanish missionaries.
Tallahassee Museum

This historical village is part of the larger museum complex, which features an impressive zoo. The authentic buildings include Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church, Concord School House, Seaboard Airline Caboose, and the Bellevue Plantation. There are also replica buildings, creating a sizeable collection to roam. You could easily spend an entire afternoon at the complex.

Yesteryear Village
